How To Crack IBPS PO In a Month: Manage your time effectively

First of all, keep in mind that if you are a complete beginner in preparation for the bank exam, this article is not for you. You will not be able to complete your preparation in just one month starting from the ground level. The study plans provided in this article are for those who are already in the preparation process but lag behind the others for some reason. However, they want to crack the exam anyhow with one month’s preparation. If you follow this article thoroughly and study at least for 8 hours every day for the next 30 days, you will be able to secure qualifying marks for the IBPS PO mains exam, provided you are not beginning from scratch. Follow the tips, and make the most of the 30 days that are going to be the most crucial days for you. Make a study plan that suits your sleeping pattern, working hours if you are a working professional, and other conveniences. If you study consistently with focus, you will be able to complete the entire syllabus well in 2 weeks. Devote the next 2 weeks for revising, giving the mock test, and solving the previous years’ questions in the stipulated time frame.

You need to focus on practicing questions as much as possible. Solve mock test papers and previous years’ questions. Make sure you practice each section in a balanced way and do not miss any part. You need to identify your strengths and weaknesses by solving these questions and plan your strategy accordingly. Suppose you are from a science background, and find numerical ability easier than English, you should of course work on the latter much more than the former, but you should not leave areas you are strong at completely. Otherwise, the chances are, you will falter in the strong subject itself during the exam.

How To Crack IBPS PO In a Month: Exam Pattern

As you will go through the previous year’s question papers, you will get to know the question patterns, otherwise, the preparation would be meaningless. The IBPS PO preliminary exam will have 3 sections, English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. For each section, the time duration will be 20 minutes. In an English language test, there will be 30 questions carrying 1 mark each. For both Numerical ability and reasoning ability, there will be 35 questions each, with 1 mark for each question. Overall, the exam will consist of 100 questions that you need to solve within 60 minutes. The time limits of each section are separate, which means you have to complete each section within the stipulated time. You need to practice solving questions for each section with a timer on. Solving previous year’s question papers is extremely important because it will give you an idea of the type of questions you might expect in the exam and help you to prepare accordingly. In the last 2 weeks, practice at least 2 past questions, and give 2 mock tests every day. Spend the rest of 4 hours of the day evaluating and revising.

How To Crack IBPS PO In a Month: Know the syllabus

Needless to say, if you do not know the IBPS PO Prelims syllabus, you cannot prepare for it. In the English language section, you will have questions on English grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension. In the numerical ability section, the questions will be asked from topics from class 10 maths syllabus like Percentage, Boats and Streams, Profit and Loss, Pipes and Cisterns, Average, Time and Work, Simple and Compound Interest, Time, Speed and Distance, Simplification, Mensuration, Number Systems, Probability, Number Series, Permutation and Combination, Ratio and Proportion, Surds and Indices,  and Mixtures and Allegations. In the Reasoning Ability section, you will get questions from topics like Distance and Directions, Mathematical Inequalities, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, Analogy, Circular and Linear Seating Arrangements, Classification,  Syllogism, Order and Ranking, Data Sufficiency, Alphanumeric Series, Puzzles, etc.

You will be required to find out the easy and difficult portions of each section. For example, in some chapters of maths like average and profit and loss, direct formula-based questions are asked most of the time, and so these portions are considered easy. In the English language, if you go through a good book for mugging up the phrases and idioms, chances are, you will get known questions from those portions. In reasoning ability, blood relation questions are relatively easy. Prepare those portions in the first 7 days. Then you need to identify your strengths and weaknesses. For that, take as many IBPS PO mock test free as possible. The more you face the questions that might be asked in the exam, the better idea you get about your preparation. Give more time to the topics you consider yourself weak at. But as suggested earlier, do not leave the topics you are good at too. With a balanced approach, you will be able to make use of the last one month available to you fully.

If you follow these tips properly, you will surely be able to crack the IBPS PO prelims exam in one month.
