4. Write your details on a piece of paper
In case there is an emergency abroad it can be hard to relocate you without proper identification. Carry around with you the address to your hotel, phone numbers of next of kin and other information you think may be crucial for your identification. Also, inform a close friend of the country you are visiting and your hotel room.
